We are excited to welcome Emily Rucker to our Saylor PT Family!!! WELCOME ABOARD!!!

Emily Rucker, PT, DPT earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology in 2011 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015 from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She has spent the past 2 years working in outpatient orthopedics treating a wide variety of orthopedic-related injuries and musculoskeletal dysfunctions. She enjoys rehabilitation of rotator cuff repairs, total joint replacements, gait and balance dysfunction, and sport-related injuries. She believes incorporating manual therapy techniques, corrective exercises, and treating the body as a whole are crucial to the success of the treatment plan. Emily has recently completed course 1 of 2 in obtaining her Certification in Pregnancy and Post-Partum physical therapy (CAPP-OB) through the APTA with expected completion in 2018. She is also currently completing coursework towards certification as a Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES) to be completed in January 2018. Her passion of pre-, interim-, and post-partum physical therapy stems from personal experience following the birth of her son. She hopes to bring a greater awareness to women’s health issues and to help women return to their desired physical state following childbirth. Areas of interest include: low back and pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy, abdominal bracing during pregnancy, diastasis rectus abdominus, cesarean scar assessment and treatment, pubic symphysis dysfunction, birthing positions, pelvic floor weakness, safe exercise during pregnancy, and return to sport following delivery.

Saylor PT would love to welcome Ruth to our Family and Jupiter clinic :) Welcome aboard Ruth!!

Ruth Christiansen is a native of northeast Tennessee, but spent her later childhood years in Zimbabwe where her parents serve at a mission hospital. It was there she was first exposed to physical therapy from shadowing a local therapist. The therapist was equipped with very few resources, but still provided creative and excellent care for her patients. This experience inspired Ruth to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Ruth received her undergraduate degree in Allied Health from Cedarville University in 2012, and then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015 at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago IL. She has spent the past 2 years in the Chicagoland area at an outpatient clinic treating various orthopedic and neurological conditions. Ruth approaches treatment using both manual techniques and tailored guided exercise to enhance and aide the healing experience. In her spare time, Ruth spoils her 2 nieces and nephew, travels, and watercolors whenever she can!
